1st National Painting Competition 2007
Concept and Promotion

The initial idea was to gather young artists primarily to involve them in
the organization’s advocacy programs. The talents they have in portraying
views, thoughts, perceptions and ideas into beautiful work of arts are
visualized to be an effective campaign tool.

Then it was proposed to hold a competition to tap these individuals. After
several meetings with art professionals and other key persons, the design
was finalized. Painting Competition for school-based and community-
based artists, with ages 15-30 and Poster Making Contest for high
schools, with ages 13-17, formed part of the launching of the organization
on November 30, 2007.

Despite the short span of time, universities, colleges and high schools,
both private and public were informed through phone calls, invitation
letters, and personal visits of volunteers in their schools and communities.

Deans, principals, art groups played major role in disseminating the
objectives of this activity and in encouraging participants to take part in
this event.
