On-the-spot Poster Making Contest
The Participants
As early as 8:00 o’clock in the morning, thirty-
seven (37) young artists, who came up with their
passion for arts gathered to compete and share
their talents at Department of Agrarian Reform
(DAR) Gym in this year’s Poster Making
Competition.
The participants came from fourteen (14) high
schools in Quezon City which were as follows:
Philippine Tiong Se Academy, Metropolitan
Hospital College of Nursing, Manila Patriotic
School, St. Stephen’s High School, New Era
University, Balara High School, St. Bridget
School of Quezon City, Don Bosco Technical
College, Gospel Light Christian Academy, Holy
Rosary of Science and Technology, San
Francisco High School, Manuel Roxas High
School and Tandang Sora High School.

The Jurors
Mr. Robert de la Cruz, Executive Director of Tao at Kalikasan
Development Center, Inc. (TKDCI), Ms. Daphne Aguilar and Mr.
Mario Luna, judges of the competition had a tough time
ascertaining the bests. All the submitted artworks according to
them, depicted nature conservation and rehabilitation, which is the
primary theme of the event.
The Winners
The finalists were Joana Marie D. Sy of Philippine Tiong Se
Academy, Janelle M. Yu of Manila Patriotic School, Joselle Clarisse
Co Reyes of St. Stephen’s High School, Janelle D. Panci of Balara
High School, Mark Anthony A. Manzano of Holy Rosary of Science
and Technology, Jay Javier R. Cahilig, Karl Patrick S. Mananzala
and Cladie A. Piano of San Francisco High school.
Brilliant artwork entitled “Plant in Hand” by George Benedict M.
bagged the first prize. Ma. Leody B. Jasmin’s “Kalikasan
Pangalagaan” and Mary Denise R. Dator’s “Ang Taong may
Pangangalaga sa Kalikasan, may Kinabukasan” took home the
second and third prize, respectively. Moreover, chosen finalists
were awarded with certificates. Cash prizes were also granted to
the top three (3) winners.
